Pioneers Outlast Bobcats

The Pioneers used 2 huge quarters to grab an 83-55 victory at Peru State on Wednesday. The first quarter was an offensive struggle, but an Ellie Dietz 3 in the final seconds gave MNU a 13-10 lead. In the second quarter, the Pioneers found their rhythm and outscored the Bobcats 27-13 to take a 40-23 lead into halftime. Peru State stayed with MNU in the 3rd, but the Pioneers won the 4th quarter 30-18 to win by 28.

Tristin Wicks shot 9-12 for 18 points and a career-high 14 rebounds. Megan Balcom had 18 points and 6 assists. Jasmine Webb added 13 points and 6 boards. Whitney Moia had 10 points, 9 rebounds, and 4 fouls in 9 minutes off the bench. And Kyleesha Weston had 8 assists, 6 rebounds, and 4 steals.
