MNU trailed by 9 points late in the third quarter, but a 21-3 run put the Pioneers in control in a 78-72 victory at Missouri Valley on Saturday. MNU started the game on a 9-2 run, but Valley went on a 16-1 run and led by 2 at the end of the 1st quarter. Valley made another small comeback in the 2nd quarter and led 39-36 at halftime.
The Vikings built the lead to 9 with 1:30 left in the 3rd, but a final possession
Bailey Rinehart 3-pointer sparked a huge run. MNU scored 15 straight points to take the lead and Valley never got closer than 2 possessions the rest of the way.
Tanchelle Hollingsworth was 7-11 from the floor including 3-7 from beyond the arc for a game-high 22 points, 6 assists, and 3 steals.
Jayden Oliver hit 6 threes for 20 points and 4 assists.
Tristin Wicks added 13 points, 3 assists, 2 blocks, and 2 steals. And
Jovana Jovovic had 9 points and 5 rebounds off the bench.
