The NAIA & NSCAA released the 2016 All-America & All-Midwest Region Teams this week and the Pioneers were well represented. Â The All-America committee is comprised of a panel of coaches that represent the various geographic areas that comprise the 197 teams in Men's Soccer. Â Through this selection process that starts at the Conference level three teams of 12 players along with honorable mention candidates are honored each year. Â This is the highest award that an individual player can achieve and the three MNU Men's Soccer players are very deserving. Â
Eduardo Heringer,
Dominic Harrington, and
Frantzly Zephirin were placed on the top two All-America teams for their accomplishments this season.  They were each selected to the NSCAA All-Midwest Region First Team as well.
This is Heringer's second All-America selection.  He was an honorable mention selection last season.  This season he was selected as a midfielder to the NSCAA/NAIA First Team. The senior from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil concludes a brilliant career at MNU.  He was a two-time First Team All-Conference selection, a two-time NSCAA All-Midwest Region selection and with his 3.40 cumulative GPA will be a candidate for the prestigious NSCAA Scholar All-America team.  He will graduate in May with an Accounting degree. Â
Dominic Harrington enjoyed a fantastic first year campaign at MNU. Â He was selected as the Heart of America Conference Newcomer of the Year. The junior striker from St. Joseph, Trinidad & Tobago was selected to the NSCAA/NAIA Second Team. Â He finished the year with 16 goals and 4 assists for a team leading 36 points. Â
He was joined on the Second Team by teammate
Frantzly Zephirin. Â The Heart of America Conference Defensive MVP had a stellar senior season for the Pioneers. Hailing from Montreal, Quebec, Canada the defender helped lead the MNU defense to a .760 goals against average while registering 1 goal and 8 assists on the season.
The MNU Men's Soccer team finished the year with a 16-4-1 record and advanced to the Round of 16 in the NAIA National Tournament. Â The entire NAIA All-America selections can be seen
