MNU led 26-8 after one quarter en route to a 71-54 victory at Culver-Stockton on Wednesday. The 18-point lead was trimmed to 13 by halftime, and the Wildcats used a 6-0 run at the end of the third to close to within 12. But a dobule digit lead was maintained throughout the fourth and MNU won by 17.
Megan Balcom shot 7-14 for a game-high 21 points and 4 assists.
Jasmine Webb added 16 points. Bailey Rinehard had 10 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists, and 2 steals.
Nathalie Felipe had 10 points in 17 minutes off the bench.
Kyleesha Weston had 5 assists and 7 rebounds. And
Whitney Moia hauled in 13 rebounds and blocked 2 shots in 22 minutes off the bench.
MNU is 16-4 (11-2 Heart). The next game is Saturday at home vs. Benedictine (18-3, 10-3) at 2:00. MNU fell at Benedictine 72-66 earlier in the season. It is the "Coaches vs. Cancer" game and there will be a collection for donations.
