Pioneers Handle Vikings for 6th Straight Win

The Pioneers struggled to score early, but a spark from Kalie Uher was all MNU needed in a 75-51 victory over Missouri Valley on Saturday. With MNU trailing 11-6 with 3 minutes left in the first quarter, Uher scored 3 buckets, stole a pass, and recorded a block as the Pioneers took an 18-16 lead.

In the second quarter, MNU opened up a 13-point lead which they took to the halftime break. The lead got as high as 25 in the second half as the Pioneers kept the pressure on, and MNU won their 6th straight game.

Megan Balcom hit 5 threes for 17 points, 4 assists, and 3 steals. Jasmine Webb had 17 points on 6-10 shooting with 5 rebounds and 3 steals. Kyleesha Weston had 12 points, 5 rebounds, and 2 blocks. And Kalie Uher had 9 points on 4-5 shooting in 16 minutes off the bench.

MNU is 14-3 (9-1 Heart). The next game is Wednesday at Central Methodist (14-2, 9-1) at 5:30. The winner will claim sole possession of the first place as the first half of the conference schedule comes to a close.
