Krohn Shines as MNU Beats Northwestern 4-1

Steffi Krohn came off the bench in the 19th minute and sparked the Pioneers with 2 quick assists and a goal in a 4-1 victory over Northwestern on Saturday. Krohn fed Kalyn Pfaff for a goal to get the scoring started, and 2 minutes later she found Hannah Benedict for another strike to make it 2-0. After a collision in the box resulted in a goal for Northwestern, Krohn buried a PK late in the first half to give MNU a 3-1 lead at halftime. In the 64th minute, Taryn McClendon scored to put the Pioneers up by 3, and the defense held the rest of the way.

MNU dominated the game, out-shooting Northwestern 28-2. The Red Raiders did not record a shot on goal, and corner kicks were 13-2 in MNU's favor.

MNU is 1-0-1. The next game is Wednesday at home vs. Columbia College (2-0) at 3:00.
