Pioneers Sweep Valley

The Pioneers have won 3 in a row after a double header sweep at Missouri Valley on Tuesday. In Game 1, Taylor Pearcy allowed just 3 hits and struck out 4 for her second straight complete game shutout while her offense put up 9 runs. Shelby Frans got the scoring started in the third with her first collegiate homer, then drove in another run in the fourth to give the Pioneers a 4-0 lead. MNU put the game away with a 4-run sixth and won 9-0 in 6 innings via the mercy rule. Alexis Pacheco (2-4, R, RBI, 3 SB), Jess Peacock (1-4, 3 RBI), Hayley Gately (3-4, R, 2B, RBI), and Shelby Frans (2-3, 2 R, 2B, HR, 2 RBI) led the offense.

In Game 2, MNU put up 2 in the first 2 innings for a 4-1 lead, and Megan Schwindler made it hold up. A 2-run single from Hayley Gately put the Pioneers up 6-1, and MNU held on for a 6-2 victory.
