Jasmine Webb was the difference in a 72-67 victory over Central Methodist on Wednesday in the quarterfinals of the HAAC Post-Season Tournament. The junior reserve sparked a key run in each half to lift MNU to victory. In the first half, Webb entered the game with the Pioneers leading 5-3. When she left the game 6 minutes later, MNU led 19-11. The Eagles immediately made a run of their own and tied the game at 20. MNU took a 2-point lead into the locker room, but the Eagles came out strong to start the second half and used a 7-0 run to take a 4-point lead. Webb subbed in after a timeout, and the Pioneers took over the game. She scored 11 points during a 29-4 run (video
here) over 10 minutes to give MNU a 21-point lead. The Eagles would not go quietly, however, and chipped away at the lead over the next 5 minutes with a 23-6 run to get within 4. The Pioneers made enough free throws down the stretch to hold off CMU, and moved on to the semis for the 4th straight season.
Jasmine Webb shot 10-12 for a career-high 22 points and 6 rebounds off the bench.
Shadequa Longus had 12 points and 4 assists off the bench.

Top-seed MNU is 25-5. The next game is Friday at home at 7pm vs. 4-seed Culver-Stockton (20-9) in the semifinals.
