Pioneers Split vs. St. Mary

MNU split a neutral-site double header with St. Mary on Wednesday. In Game 1, the Pioneers were held scoreless while USM scratched across single runs in the fifth and sixth to win by 2. In Game 2, MNU took the lead in the second thanks to a USM error, but the Pioneers gave it right back in the third with an error of their own. Macie Jones gave MNU the lead in the fifth with an RBI single to score Felisha Vogelaar, but a St. Mary solo homer tied the game again in the sixth. MNU loaded the bases in the seventh, and Hayley Gately's double scored 2 and proved to be the game winner. Megan Schwindler pitched a 1-2-3 seventh for a complete game victory, and Jess Peacock (2-4, R, 2B), Hayley Gately (2-4, 2B, 2 RBI), and Macie Jones (1-4, R, RBI) led the offense.

MNU is 4-7. The next event is the home opener schedule for March 7. MNU will face St. Gregory's at 10am, followed by Gregory's vs. Park in a neutral game, then MNU vs. Park at 2:00.
