MNU fell to #19 William Woods but bounced back to beat USAO on Saturday. In the first game, the Owls scored twice in the first inning, but MNU tied it in the second on a
Kaity Wills homer and a
Kimberly Montoya RBI single. William Woods scored 7 more times in the middle innings, however, and the Pioneers lost 9-2.
Against USAO, MNU exploded for 5 runs in the top of the first. With the bases loaded and 2 outs,
Macie Jones drove in 2 with a single, and
Madison McKay drilled a 3-run homer. USAO chipped away, scoring runs in each of the first 4 innings to tie the game. Both teams scored in the sixth, and
Alexis Pacheco drove in
Jess Peacock to put the Pioneers up 7-6.
Taylor Pearcy finished the seventh with no damage for a complete game victory, and
Jess Peacock (3-4, R),
Felisha Vogelaar (2-2, 2 2B, BB, Sac),
Alexis Pacheco (2-4, R, RBI, SB),
Macie Jones (2-3, 2 R, 2B, 2 RBI), and
