Pioneers Split Day 2

MNU fell to #19 William Woods but bounced back to beat USAO on Saturday. In the first game, the Owls scored twice in the first inning, but MNU tied it in the second on a Kaity Wills homer and a Kimberly Montoya RBI single. William Woods scored 7 more times in the middle innings, however, and the Pioneers lost 9-2.

Against USAO, MNU exploded for 5 runs in the top of the first. With the bases loaded and 2 outs, Macie Jones drove in 2 with a single, and Madison McKay drilled a 3-run homer. USAO chipped away, scoring runs in each of the first 4 innings to tie the game. Both teams scored in the sixth, and Alexis Pacheco drove in Jess Peacock to put the Pioneers up 7-6. Taylor Pearcy finished the seventh with no damage for a complete game victory, and Jess Peacock (3-4, R), Felisha Vogelaar (2-2, 2 2B, BB, Sac), Alexis Pacheco (2-4, R, RBI, SB), Macie Jones (2-3, 2 R, 2B, 2 RBI), and Madison McKay (1-3, R, HR, 3 RBI) led the offense.

MNU is 3-6. The next game is a double header on Thursday at home vs. Bethany at 2:00.
