Pioneers Take Conference Opener

The Pioneers never trailed in a 61-47 victory over Culver-Stockton to open conference play on Monday. The game was close until late in the second quarter when MNU turned a 3-point lead into a 10-point lead with a 10-3 run. Culver cut the lead to 7 with 8 minutes left in the 4th quarter, but the Pioneers held the Wildcats to 1 point the rest of the way and won by 14.

Jasmine Webb was 8-13 for 17 points. Tristin Wicks was 5-9 with 14 points. Kyleesha Weston (9) and Megan Balcom (7) combined for 16 assists. Whitney Moia added 9 rebounds and 3 steals. And Nathalie Felipe had 8 points, 8 rebounds, and 4 steals.
