Pioneers Beat Peru in 4, Advance to Final

MNU will play in its 5th straight conference tournament final after a 3-1 semifinal victory over Peru State on Wednesday. The Pioneers dominated in their 3 wins, with a hiccup 5-point loss in the third set. MNU took the first set 25-16 and the second set 25-14 before dropping Set 3. The Pioneers righted the ship in the fourth set and won 25-14 to advance.

Gisele Silva had 18 kills and 14 digs. Lauma Knupke had 15 kills in 30 attacks and 5 blocks. Cailyn Bessmer had 7 kills and 6 blocks. Tashley Snyder added 14 digs. Michaela Kennedy had 4 aces and 9 digs. And Rachel Kater had 51 assists.

MNU is 24-9. The next match is the Heart Postseason Tournament final on Saturday at home vs. #16 Evangel (37-4) at 5:30.
