The offense struggled to get going and MNU couldn't recover in a 72-54 loss at Columbia on Tuesday. The Cougars jumped out to an 18-7 lead after 10 minutes and maintained a double-digit lead throughout. The lead reached as high as 22 before an MNU mini-run cut it to 15 with 9 minutes left. Columbia was able to continue scoring, however, and the Pioneers dropped their 3rd game of the season. For the game, MNU shot 31 percent from the field and 47 percent from the line.
Jasmine Webb led the Pioneers with 12 points on 5-9 shooting with 6 rebounds and 2 steals off the bench.
Martyna Kudziela was 4-6 from the floor and 4-5 from the line for 12 points.
Megan Balcom had 8 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists, and 2 steals. And
Tristin Wicks hauled in 10 rebounds and blocked 2 shots.
MNU is 8-3 (2-0 HAAC). The next game is back to conference play on Saturday at home vs. Missouri Valley (5-6, 1-1) at 2:00.
