The Pioneers never trailed in a 90-53 thrashing of Missouri Valley on Saturday. The MNU defense was stifling in the first half, holding Valley to 36% shooting and out-rebounding them 28-8 to take a 43-18 lead into the locker room. The second half was more of the same and the lead got as high as 41 while MNU cruised to the finish.
Tristin Wicks led the Pioneers with 15 points on 6-12 shooting with 9 rebounds.
Daria Sprew was 7-10 from the field for 14 points and 5 rebounds.
Megan Balcom shot 6-12 for 14 points and 4 assists.
Shadequa Longus recorded a game-high 5 assists.
Jasmine Webb had 12 rebounds off the bench.
Ashli Lykins had 10 points and 7 rebounds off the bench. And
Ashtynn Burns put up 9 points in 9 minutes off the bench.
MNU is 9-3 (3-0 HAAC). The next game is Friday, January 2 at #5 Campbellsville (12-1) at 2:00.
