Cale Brubaker's career-high 21 points led MNU to a 16-point victory over Missouri Valley on Saturday. The junior from New Braunfels, Texas was perfect in the first half, going 5-5 from the field (including 3-3 from beyond the arc) and 2-2 from the line for 15 points. His previous career-high was 12 last week against Baker. The big first half contributed to a 10-point halftime lead for the Pioneers, who had trailed 14-7 before a 9-0 run gave them a lead they would not relinquish. MNU extended the lead to start the second half, scoring the first 6 points and maintaining a double-digit lead the rest of the way to win 75-59.
Brubaker finished 7-10 (5-8 3fg) for 21 points, 5 assists, 4 steals, and 4 rebounds.
Nate Launius was 10-16 from the floor for 20 points and 8 rebounds.
Kyle Smith went 4-8 from three-point land for 12 points and 4 assists off the bench. And
Aleksandar Zivkovic dominated the paint, hauling in 14 rebounds and blocking 4 shots.
