Â
The second half took a physical toll on each team. Players were beginning to show the effects of the weather and MNU's possession began to take its toll on the Ottawa players. The Pioneers were creating chances but it seemed like it would be one of those days where nothing was going to go in. That finally changed in the 82nd minute when MNU's
Rodrigo Rivas scored off of a corner kick by
Matias Fernandez. This gave MNU the 1-0 lead and that is how the game ended. MNU out-shot OU 8-1 in the second half and for the game they had an 11-3 advantage in corner kicks. Chris Eriksson was credited with 2 saves in earning the shutout for the Pioneers.
