Pioneers Shut Out McPherson at KCKCC

Box Score The #16 Pioneers took care of business against McPherson College on Saturday night. Because of Pioneer Field being unplayable, MNU was forced to move the game to Kansas City Community College. The game kicked off late because of overtimes played in games previous to MNU's but the MNU students who faithfully follow the team were in full voice once again.

MNU got off to a quick start with a goal in the 7th minute of play. Rodrigo Rivas scored from an Alvaro Beltran corner kick to give MNU the 1-0 lead. Just 3 minutes later Jon Babcock scored from a Matias Fernandez assist to extend the lead. In the second half the Pioneers were in control of the match and in the 75th minute, Babcock secured his brace from a Lippi Souza corner kick. Chris Eriksson made 1 save in the match to earn the shutout for the Pioneers.

The men move their record to 7-2-1 on the year. Their next game is on Wednesday afternoon at 4:00 against Park University at Pioneer Field.
