Box Score The #5 Pioneers opened the HAAC schedule with a dominant performance at Central Methodist on Tuesday. MNU jumped out to an early 11-4 lead in Set 1 and held on for a 25-16 victory. The second set was more of the same and the Pioneers cruised to a 25-14 win. Another early run sparked the Pioneers in the third set and they completed the sweep with a 25-19 win.
Vladi Kopanarova led the offense with a match-high 11 kills.
Tashley Snyder had a match-high 17 digs.
Linjun Ji had 4 aces and 15 digs.
Taryn Salum recorded a match-high 31 assists. And
Britney Grittman and
Emily Hester tallied 4 blocks apiece.
MNU is 9-0 (1-0 HAAC). The next match is Friday the 13th for the home opener vs. #11 Park (9-1) at 3pm at the
Hy-Vee 2013 MNU Invitational. The Pioneers play Grand View (4-6) at 7pm that evening as well. On Saturday MNU faces Ottawa (3-2) at 10am and #8 Midland (14-0) at 4pm.
