Highlights | The Pioneers secured the 2-seed in the conference tournament with a double header sweep of Peru State on Monday. In Game 1,
Katie Williams scattered 4 singles and struck out 5 in a complete game shutout. The Pioneers got on the board in the bottom of the fourth when pinch hitter Drika Asano walked with the bases loaded to give MNU a 1-0 lead. In the bottom of the fifth, the Pioneers loaded the bases with no outs when Williams singled home 2 runs.

Chelsey Streibich added RBIs and the Pioneers led 5-0. Williams picked up her 7th victory, and

In Game 2,
Taylor Pearcy held the Bobcats hitless until the sixth inning while
Tianna George put MNU on the board with a 2-run homer in the third. George's bases loaded walk in the fifth put MNU up 3-0, and that was the final. Pearcy (9-3) allowed 2 singles for the complete game shutout. And
Lynsey Keith and
Tianna George had 2 hits apiece.
MNU is 26-12 (14-4 HAAC). The 8-team double-elimination conference tournament is scheduled for Saturday and Sunday at the Blue Valley Recreational Complex. MNU will play at 1pm (vs. Missouri Valley), 3pm (vs. Baker/Benedictine), and possibly 5pm on Saturday. Sunday's schedule is TBA.
