The Pioneer bats produced 20 runs in a double header sweep at Benedictine on Monday. In Game 1, the Pioneers broke open a 3-3 tie with 5 runs in the top of the fourth inning highlighted by a
Katie Williams 2-run double.
Kayla Harris pitched 5 innings of relief and finished the 8-4 victory for the win. And
Vanessa Arandules (2-5, R), Drika Asano (1-4, R, 2 RBI),
Lynsey Keith (2-3, 2 R, 3B, SB, HBP),
Katie Williams (3-4, R, 2 2B, 3 RBI), and Jess Scarlett (1-4, R, HR, 2 RBI) led the offense.
In Game 2, the Pioneers started the scoring with a 2-out rally in the third. After a walk and a double put runners in scoring position.
Vanessa Arandules knocked them with a single, and MNU led 2-0. Benedictine tied the game in the bottom of the third, but the Pioneers put up 10 runs in the next 3 innings to win 12-4 in 6 innings via the mercy rule.
Taylor Pearcy struck out 3 in 4 relief innings for the victory. And
