In Game 2, Polivka's second homer of the day - a 2-run shot - put the Pioneers up 2-0 in the second inning. It was all the run support pitcher Katie Williams would need, but it was not all she would get. Adriana Asano drilled a 2-run homer in the third, and Polivka drove in her 4th run of the day with a single to put MNU up 5-0. Chelsey Streibich's 2-out RBI single in the fifth increased the lead to 6-0. And Jess Scarlett's homer down the left field line put MNU up 7-0 in the sixth. A few batters later, Vanessa Aradules ended the game via the 8-run rule with an RBI double, and the Pioneers came away with the split.

Katie Williams struck out 5 in 6 innings for her 3rd victory. And Adriana Asano (1-2, R, HR, 2 RBI), Vanessa Aradules (3-4, 2 R, 2 2B, RBI), Jen Polivka (2-3, R, HR, 3 RBI), and Jess Scarlett (1-3, R, HR, RBI) led the offense.

MNU is 10-8. The next game is a double header at Avila (3-7) on Wednesday at 1:00 to start the conference season.
