MNU snapped a 4-game losing streak with a huge double header sweep of #19 Evangel on Friday.

Lynsey Keith's RBI single brought home
Jadalynn Cirillo and
Cait Gardner's 2-out RBI single scored another. Evangel picked up a run in the 4th, but
Cait Gardner did it again with two outs - doubling home
Janessa Swinney and extending the lead. A solo homer brought Evangel closer in the 6th, but they wouldn't score again and MNU took the game 3-2.
Kayla Harris scattered 7 hits for her 7th victory. And
Janessa Swinney (2-4, 2 R, SB),
Lynsey Keith (1-2, RBI, Sac, SB), and
Cait Gardner (2-3, 2B, 2 RBI) led the offense.

Kayla Harris stayed out there and threw 7 more solid innings. The Pioneers scored twice in the 3rd inning when
Cait Gardner drove home 2 with a 2-out bases loaded single. An Evangel homer cut the MNU lead in half, but MNU rallied for 2 more in the 5th. With 2 outs and a runner on first,
Jen Polivka tripled to the right-center gap to bring home
Janessa Swinney, and
Cait Gardner followed with yet another 2-out RBI with a double. Evangel threatened in the 7th with a run on 3 hits, but Harris slammed the door and completed the 4-2 victory.
Harris' second complete game victory of the day moved her to 8-6. And
Janessa Swinney (3-3, 2 R),
Jen Polivka (1-3, R, 3B, RBI), and
Cait Gardner (2-2, 2B, 3 RBI, HBP) led the offense.
The Pioneers are 11-8 (2-2 HAAC). The next game is a double header on Saturday at home vs. Avila (8-18, 2-2) at 6:00.
