Game 1 Box | The Pioneers opened their 2012 home schedule with a double header sweep of Tabor on Saturday. In Game 1, the Pioneers took the lead in the bottom of the 1st with 3 runs on just 2 hits, but Tabor came right back with 3 runs in the top of the 2nd to tie it. The Pioneers kept hitting with 2 runs on 3 hits in the bottom of the second and never lost the lead. Another run crossed in the 6th on a wild pitch, and MNU took the first game 6-3.
Kayla Harris threw a complete game for her first victory of the season. And
Janessa Swinney (1-3, 2 R, BB, SB),
Lynsey Keith (1-2, R, 2B, BB, Sac),
Jessica Scarlett (2-4, 2 R, RBI), and Cait Cardner (2-4, R, 2B) led the offense.
Game 2 Box | In Game 2, Tabor took the lead in the top of the 4th with 2 runs, but the Pioneers tied it at 2 in the 5th. With 2 outs and nobody on,
Adrian Brown and
Janessa Swinney singled.
Lynsey Keith then reached on an error which brought home both runners. The game remained tied into the 8th when
Brittany Williams drove home the winning run to complete the sweep. Harris picked up her second win of the day with 3 innings of relief. And
