MNU kept Avila off the scoreboard in a double header sweep of the Eagles on Thursday. In Game 1, a 6-run third inning gave MNU control and led to a mercy-rule victory.
Emily True led off with a hit by pitch and stole second. One out later,
Taylor Ryal walked and
Ashley Salter singled to load the bases. An error kept the bases loaded and brought home a run, and
Cait Gardner's shot off the pitcher's glove trickled to the outfield and brought home 2 more. A double steal and 3 more singles accounted for the 6-run inning, and the Pioneers won 8-0.
Kayla Harris (11-1) allowed 4 hits in 4 innings for the victory. And

In Game 2, MNU held a 1-0 lead heading to the fifth inning. A sequence of 3 pitches blew the game open for the Pioneers in the fifth.. With one out,
Emily True nailed the first pitch of the at bat over the left fielder's head for a double. On the next pitch, Jen Costa knocked one off the left field fence for an RBI double. And on the first pitch of her at bat,
Taylor Ryal drilled her 7th homer of the season over the left field fence to give MNU a 4-0 lead. Another run crossed in the sixth, and the Pioneers took the second game 5-0.
Jessica Hull (7-3) scattered 5 hits in 6 innings for the victory. And
Emily True (2-3, 2B, SB), Jen Costa (2-3, R, 2B, RBI, BB),
Taylor Ryal (2-4, R, 2B, HR, 3 RBI),
