Another Gut Wrenching Loss for Men's Soccer

Pioneers lose in double overtime to #17 Benediictine

The MNU Men's Soccer team has 7 losses on the year. Six of them are by 1 goal; four to current NAIA Top 25 teams and another to a NCAA Division 1 school. None were more gut wrenching then last night's double overtime loss to Benedictine at their homecoming. In the 105th minute BC scored the golden goal to win the game.

The game was a very even affair throughout the night, with each team taking turns controlling portions of each half. MNU, for the game, dominated the possession and BC created the best chances on counter attacks. Chris Eriksson for MNU had a tremendous game in the goal and came up with 2 big saves in the game to keep the match deadlocked.

With the loss the Pioneers now find themselves in a must win scenario. On Wednesday afternoon at Pioneer field the boys must get a win or tie against Avila University in order to qualify for the HAAC conference tournament which starts November 8th.
