The day started off badly for MNU with Graceland scoring the first goal off of a MNU mistake in the 7th minute of play. Neither team created much in the remainder of the half and the score at halftime remained 1-0. The second half was a bit better for MNU. The Pioneers dominated possession and kept Graceland pinned in their own half for a majority of the time. Against the run of play Graceland scored their second in the 78th minute to make it 2-0. Just four minutes later, the Pioneers were able to make the game interesting with an incredible goal by Michael Shadfar. The overhead volley into the upper 90 will be hard pressed to be beat for goal-of-the-year. MNU continued to attack and the last few minutes were a tense affair. But the Pioneers ran out of time and the game came to an end.

For the game MNU outshot GU 13-10 with SOG being 4-4.  Corner kicks were 6-2 in MNU's favor. GU's goalkeeper was credited with 3 saves. Matt Gow and Bret Olendorff split time in the net for MNU and were credited with 2 saves. Graceland moves their record to 6-7-1, and 4-2 in the conference.  MNU falls to 7-6-1, and 2-3-1 in the conference. MNU's next match will be at 8pm on Wednesday night against Avila University. The game will be played at Swope Park, which is the KC Wizards training facility.
