Kayla Wyrsch was born and raised in San Francisco, California. She came to MNU in the fall of 2017 to play five seasons, having a successful career being named team captain her senior season. She joined the coaching staff in January 2022, after graduating from the university in December of 2021 with a degree in Kinesiology. 
She currently coaches for Kansas Rush soccer club.

In May of 2022, she joined Sunflower State FC as an assistant coach. The team that season won the central conference championship for UWS2.

“I coach because I want to give girls the opportunities I had to succeed in a competitive and healthy environment. I believe a coach can have such an impact on a player both on and off the field, and I want to provide a space to see women grow in their own personal way both in soccer and in life. I am excited to continue being a part of the MNU program and give back for all the amazing relationships and growth I have had throughout my years here.” 

Kayla currently lives in Olathe, Kansas.
