David Peterson

Bringing college and AAU basketball coaching experience with him, David Peterson enters his fourth season as an assistant coach for the MNU Pioneers.

Peterson’s successful collegiate experience and well-respected reputation makes him a vital part of the Pioneer family. In his role as an assistant coach under Lewis, Peterson works with the rest of the staff on recruiting efforts, as well as developing the post play.

During his collegiate career (2001-2004) Peterson graduated Top-10 All-time in scoring after leading his teams to a National Championship appearance, three Elite 8 appearances, three conference tournament championships and two regular season conference championships. He played for the ABA Kansas City Knights in addition to time spent in France and England. A native of Olathe, KS, Peterson received his bachelor’s degree in International Business/ Communications from MNU in 2004 and currently works as an Operations Executive for Cerner Corporation.

Peterson also coaches for the premier girls’ basketball club program in the Kansas City area, Eclipse, as well as being a co-founder for the KC Hoops Factory.
