Coach Michels has been an assistant coach for the Pioneers since the 2014 season. During her time at MNU, she has spent her time working with the pitchers on their different pitches, approaches to different batters, and how to become an overall better pitcher mentally and physically.
 
Prior to MNU, she has run multiple pitching camps and individual pitching lessons. She has also been a coach at Marquette High School in Bellevue, Iowa for 4 years. She has helped make their first ever appearance at State, getting 5th place in 2012.
 
Michels is a graduate of University of Dubuque where she was a starting pitcher for 4 years and graduated with a degree in Exercise Science and is now working her way to a Masters of Science in Management at MNU. As a player she earned Pitcher of the Year twice and Player of the Week her Junior year. She lives in Kansas City, MO.
