Coach Fleming, Rocky Lamar's high school coach and the father of former Pioneer 1st Team All-American Guard Dan Fleming, returns to MNU this season having worked as a volunteer assistant since 1999. He was inducted into the Iowa Basketball Hall of Fame in 2006. In his 33 years at Maquoketa High School, he won 500 games, coached 29 All-Staters, and led six teams to state tournament bids including a 2nd place finish in 1983. He was the lead recruiter in Iowa which led to MNU getting former standouts Akuien Wour, Cal Kiburz, and Adam Hepker.
