Brummer comes to Olathe from NCAA D2 Missouri S&T where he was the outside Linebackers coach.

At S&T Brummer was a member of 2018 Mineral Water-bowl champions staff. During his time there Brummer coached All-American Bo Brooks.

Prior to his time at S&T Brummer was a Defensive Graduate Assistant at Southwestern Assemblies of God University. Brummer graduated from SAGU with an M.A. in Organizational leadership in 2017. Prior to that, Brummer graduated in 2015 with a B.A. in Sports Management and Christian Biblical Studies from Crown College where he was a member of the Storm football team playing as a Defensive Back and Linebacker. Brummer was name the 2014 Commitment Award winner for the Crown football team. Brummer is a graduate of Elk River High School where he lettered in football, track & field and weightlifting.
