Adam Riggers enters his first season as an assistant football coach at MNU with his primary responsibilities on the defensive side of the ball coaching the inside linebackers.
Riggers is a 2011 graduate of MNU and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sport Management/Business, and is working to complete his Master’s degree in Education from Bemidji State.
Riggers returns to MNU after coaching for two years at Bemidji State University (NCAA DII) in northern Minnesota where he served as the WR coach and On-campus Recruiting Coordinator. Prior to Bemidji State, Riggers coached WRs and TEs at South Dakota School of Mines & Technology and started his coaching career as an intern in Recruiting & Operations at Boise State.
He has also gained experience coaching working various summer football camps around the country at Boise State, North Dakota State, the Northwest Elite camp (Seattle, WA), and the James MacPherson QB/WR skills camp (Tucson, AZ). After transferring to MNU as a junior, Riggers played two seasons as a Pioneer and contributed at QB, LB, and most of the special teams. In 2010 the Pioneers finished 12-1, HAAC Conference Champions, and played in the NAIA National Semi-Finals. Riggers senior year (2010), he was awarded the “Gordon DeGraffenreid Most Inspirational Player” award which was voted on by his fellow teammates and coaches, as well as the “NAIA National Quarterfinal Offensive Player of the Game” award in the Pioneer victory over Morningside College in 2010.
In high school, Riggers was a State Champion and all-district quarterback at Mayfield High School in Last Cruces, NM, as well as a nationally ranked baseball State Champion at Canyon Del Oro High School in Tucson, AZ. He is not a scratch golfer, but wishes that maybe someday he will be.
Riggers is involved with Fellowship of Christian Athletes, a member of the American Football Coaches Association, and has directed various community involvement projects and mentoring programs with elementary schools.
Riggers is an Idaho native, and has been married to his wife Chelsea for four years, who is also an MNU alum and a former national qualifier track athlete at MNU.
