ST. LOUIS, Mo. – MNU broke open a scoreless match with three goals over a 13-minute stretch in the second half to earn a 3-0 over Missouri Baptist on Saturday.

The Pioneers controlled much of the attack from the opening whistle but couldn't find the breakthrough in the first half. MNU attempted 13 shots before halftime and put five on goal, while Missouri Baptist managed three shots with two on target.

Pedro Vian produced MNU's first shot on goal in the 19th minute, and Frederik Brunen, Elyes Ellouz, Lenin Flores and Caleb Brueckner each forced saves later in the half. At the other end, Lennart Fischer made two saves to keep the match scoreless heading into the break.

MNU continued to apply pressure after halftime. The Pioneers earned a corner in the 47th minute and generated several more chances before finally breaking through at 67:02. Jordan Gaona's corner set up the sequence, and David Stoklasek finished off a Phillip Mutantika assist for his second goal of the season and a 1-0 lead.

The Pioneers quickly turned the one-goal advantage into a commanding lead.

Mutantika, who had entered the match in the 63rd minute, scored his first goal of the season at 74:02 to make it 2-0. Just over six minutes later, Brunen finished a chance assisted by Gaona and Mutantika at 80:13 for the final 3-0 margin.

MNU continued creating opportunities after the third goal, putting three more shots on target over the final nine minutes.

The Pioneers finished with a commanding 29-6 advantage in shots and an 11-4 edge in shots on goal. MNU attempted 16 shots in the second half while holding Missouri Baptist to three.

Mutantika was directly involved in all three MNU goals, finishing with a goal and two assists in just 27 minutes off the bench. Stoklasek recorded the game-winner, Brunen added a goal, and Gaona contributed an assist.

Fischer made four saves in 90 minutes to record another clean sheet for the Pioneer defense.
