OLATHE, Kan. – #4 MNU scored twice in the opening 24 minutes and made the advantage stand in a 2-0 victory over Clarke on Saturday at Pioneer Field. The win moved the Pioneers to 5-1-1 overall and a perfect 3-0 in Heart play.

The Pioneers broke through in the 15th minute. After Amaro Piaggio had MNU's first shot of the match, he set up David Stoklasek for the opening goal at 14:27. It was Stoklasek's first goal of the season and gave MNU an early 1-0 advantage.

MNU doubled the lead less than 10 minutes later. Elyes Ellouz and Lenin Flores combined to set up Pedro Vian, who scored at 24:00 for his second goal of the season and a 2-0 Pioneer lead.

Clarke increased its pressure after halftime, earning eight second-half corner kicks, but the MNU defense never allowed an attempt on goal. Lennart Fischer finished the match without needing to make a save as the Pioneers recorded their third consecutive shutout.

MNU finished with a 10-9 advantage in shots and put three on goal while holding Clarke without a shot on frame. Stoklasek and Vian accounted for the two goals, while Piaggio, Ellouz and Flores each recorded an assist.
