OLATHE, Kan. – MNU erupted for five first-half goals and six more after halftime in an 11-0 rout of St. Ambrose on Saturday at Pioneer Field to open Heart play. 11 goals ties the single-game MNU record.

The Pioneers wasted almost no time taking control. Just 1:15 into the match, Pedro Vian found Lenin Flores for the opening goal. Jaxon Slaven doubled the advantage in the 16th minute off an assist from Elyes Ellouz before Flores struck twice more to complete a first-half hat trick. Ellouz converted a penalty kick just 25 seconds after Flores' third goal to make it 5-0 in the 24th minute.

MNU resumed the barrage after halftime. Slaven scored his second goal at 52:53, and Flores answered less than two minutes later with his fourth of the match. Slaven completed his own hat trick at 59:32 off an assist from Caleb Brueckner, giving the Pioneers an 8-0 advantage.

The Pioneers added three more in the final 11 minutes. Vladimir Buljan scored at 79:02, Glenn Burger followed at 81:34 and Nestor Reyes finished the scoring with a PK at 86:39. Nine of MNU's 11 goals were assisted.

Flores produced a remarkable four goals on four shots, putting every attempt on frame. Slaven scored three times on five shots and added an assist, while Ellouz had a goal and two assists. Buljan, Burger, and Reyes also scored.

MNU finished with a 25-6 advantage in shots and put 15 on goal compared to two for St. Ambrose. And Lennart Fischer stopped a PK in the second half to preserve the shutout.

Turning Point
There wasn't much mystery after the opening 24 minutes. MNU scored five times before the midpoint of the first half, including three goals in a span of 4:16.
