ST. LOUIS, Mo. – MNU struggled to generate offense and couldn't overcome a pair of late-game surges from Missouri Baptist, falling in both ends of Friday's doubleheader.

In Game 1, MNU kept things tight through five scoreless innings behind a strong outing from Mandy Brown, who matched Missouri Baptist pitch-for-pitch early. The Pioneers threatened in multiple frames but were unable to break through despite drawing 4 walks and collecting 3 hits.

The game turned in the 6th inning when Missouri Baptist capitalized on two swings, including a solo home run followed by a two-run blast to take a 3-0 lead. MNU answered in the 7th, as Senne Imel came around to score on a Tuscani Ritter RBI groundout, but the late push fell short in a 3-1 loss.
