FULTON, Mo. – #11 MNU used a dominant defensive effort and a second-half offensive explosion to cruise past William Woods, 85-42, on the road Tuesday night. The Pioneers have held their last 3 opponents under 43 points.
The Pioneers took command early and never trailed, leading 15-8 after the first quarter despite a cold start from the field. MNU's defense smothered the Owls throughout the first half, allowing just five points in the second quarter to take a commanding 35–13 lead into the break.
After halftime, the Pioneers turned up the pressure on both ends of the floor, erupting for 30 points in the third quarter while holding William Woods to just 13. MNU shot 59.5 percent in the second half and outscored the Owls 50–29 over the final 20 minutes to seal their 9th Conference win.
