MNU Selected to 5th Straight Opening Round

OLATHE, Kan. - MNU Baseball was chosen as an at-large selection to the 46-team national tournament on Wednesday. The Pioneers are the 3-seed in a 4-team double-elimination bracket hosted by the University of the Cumberlands in Williamsburg, Ky. MNU will participate in their 5th straight Opening Round and 8th overall. The other teams include: 1-seed Missouri Baptist, 2-seed Cumberlands, and 4-seed Northwestern Ohio.

The Pioneers have history with all 3 teams:
- MNU played in an Opening Round hosted by Northwestern Ohio in 2017
- MNU is 1-1 this season vs. Missouri Baptist, and 1-5 all time
- MNU's 1st and only victory in the World Series came vs. Cumberlands in 2023

MNU faces Cumberlands on Monday at 3pm eastern, followed by Northwestern Ohio vs. Missouri Baptist. The two losers play an elimination game on Tuesday at 1pm eastern followed by the winners. The winner's bracket winner waits for the remaining teams to emerge from the loser's bracket on Wednesday, and the winner advances to the World Series in Lewiston.
