Pioneers Fall at Bushnell to Close Season

EUGENE, Ore. – MNU's season came to a close Saturday evening as the Pioneers fell in straight sets to Bushnell in the NAIA Opening Round.

MNU hung tough throughout the match, but Bushnell's efficient offense made the difference. The Beacons hit .296 as a team and produced 47 kills, while the Pioneers finished at .187 with 15 attack errors.

After dropping a tight 25–21 opening set, MNU struggled to regain momentum in the second frame as Bushnell surged ahead midway through. The Pioneers responded with a strong push late in the second and carried that energy into the third, where they nearly forced a fourth set. Trailing 22–13, MNU mounted a furious 6–0 run behind the serving of Alex Thomas. However, Bushnell was able to get back on track and close out the match.
