PARKVILLE, Mo. – #13 MNU opened its 2025–26 campaign with a hard-fought 62–52 victory over Avila on Friday afternoon, using a balanced scoring attack to pull away late in the fourth quarter.
The Pioneers outrebounded Avila 43–28 and held the Eagles to just 35.7% shooting from the field, including 4-for-14 from beyond the arc. MNU's defense clamped down in the final period, limiting Avila to 12 points while shooting 53% themselves to close out the win.
Aubrey Rogers led MNU with 12 points, seven assists, and four rebounds in a strong two-way performance. Kayanna Cranmer made an instant impact off the bench, scoring 13 points on 5-for-6 shooting, while Kameron Green added 11 points and 4 boards. Mackenzie Manthe contributed 9 points and 9 rebounds in just 14 minutes, and Mary Lukert added 8 points and 4 steals.
