OSKALOOSA, Iowa – #19 MNU exploded for five second-half goals to cruise past William Penn 7–2 on Saturday afternoon, extending the Pioneers' unbeaten streak to eight.
After conceding an early goal in the 3rd minute, MNU wasted little time answering back. Thayline Teixeira netted the equalizer in the 5th minute and followed up with another in the 19th, giving the Pioneers a 2–1 advantage that would only grow from there.
The Pioneers poured on the pressure after halftime, outshooting the Statesmen 12–3 and converting on five of those attempts. A William Penn own goal in the 59th minute made it 3–1 before Tindra Jarl struck just a minute later to extend the lead. MNU continued to dominate the attacking third as Meredith Veer (74'), Luna Etienne (78'), and Audree Cheney (89') all found the back of the net in a commanding victory.
Defensively, the Pioneers held William Penn to just three second-half shots. Goalkeeper Anna Pace recorded four saves in 90 minutes of play, securing the win.
