DES MOINES, Iowa – MNU edged out Grand View in a thrilling 70-66 victory to remain undefeated in conference play. The Vikings came out strongly in the 1st quarter and built a 17-8 lead, but the Pioneers won the 2nd quarter 18-10 to tie the game at halftime. Grand View built an 8-point lead early in the 4th quarter, but MNU started to chip away. Three consecutive defensive stops and 4 free throws cut the deficit in half, and a Mark Lukert layup followed by a Keona Schenck 3-pointer put MNU up by 1 with under 4 minutes to play. The Vikings finally stopped the bleeding and used a 5-0 run to take a 1-point lead with a minute left. Zaylee Werth hit 2 clutch free throws to give MNU the lead again, and a Kameron Green blocked shot led to a Lukert run out to put MNU up by 3 in the final seconds. Grand View missed their final 3-point attempt, and Aubrey Rogers sealed it with a free throw.
