Pioneers Pick Up First Win

OLATHE, Kan. - #6 MNU beat Ottawa 5-2 on Wednesday for the first victory of the season. After 2 ties and a PK goal as the only tally, the Pioneer offense found a rhythm in their third match. In the 22nd minute, Jaxon Slavin collected a rebound and fired it home for a 1-0 lead. Just over a minute later, Tinashe Simbo scored for a 2-0 lead. The Braves answered quickly with goals in the 27th and 34th minutes to tie it, but Paul Heel made it 3-2 in the 36th minute. Antonio Mugica extended the lead in the 52nd minute, and Diego Calderon put the game away in the 89th minute for a 5-2 victory.
