OLATHE, Kan. - MidAmerica Nazarene University defensive back
Anthony Sao was signed as a free agent by the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday. The senior - graduating next week - from Compton, California, recorded 4 interceptions in the 2022 season and was named 1st team All-Conference. In 2023, injuries limited him to 7 games as the Pioneers tied for the Heart South title.
"I'm honored and grateful that the Atlanta Falcons are giving me this opportunity," said Sao. "I'm excited to be at rookie mini camp in a couple weeks and ready to work. Anything is possible through the Lord; I'm living proof."
"We are very excited for Anthony and his family on this opportunity with the Atlanta Falcons," said MNU head coach
Paul Hansen. "Anthony's hard work and determination has landed him an opportunity at the highest level. I look forward to following his NFL career."
Sao will be at the Atlanta Falcons rookie minicamp in a couple weeks. He will be participating with all Atlanta's 2024 draft picks and free agent signees.Â
