OLATHE, Kan. - The Pioneers dropped Game 1 but took Game 2 in the final inning in a double header split vs. Baker on Wednesday. In
Game 1, the Wildcats rallied for 2 runs in the top of the 2nd to take the lead, and scored 2 more in the 5th for a 4-0 advantage. A
Nyah Brown 2-run single cut the deficit in half in the bottom of the 5th, but the Pioneers couldn't score again and fell 4-2.
Game 1 Turning Point
Baker's 2-run 5th proved to be the difference.
Game 1 Individual Leaders
Graci Buckly pitched 2 innings of scoreless innings of relief. And
Cordelia Hanger (2-4, R) and
Nyah Brown (1-2, 2 RBI, BB) led the offense.
In
Game 2, MNU got on the board in the 1st on a
Kelly Stoakes RBI single, but the Wildcats rallied for 3 runs in the top of the 4th to take the lead. In the bottom of the 6th, a 2-run error tied the game, and MNU headed to the 7th looking to end it.
Cordelia Hanger led off with a walk, and
Dez Duncan bunted her to second. With 2 outs,
Kelly Stoakes grounded a single to center, and Hanger scored to win it 4-3.

Kelly Stoakes' single in the 7th won it.
Game 2Â Individual Leaders
Mykala Johnico struck out 6 in 4 innings in a no decision.
Brie Manwarren got the win with 3 innings of relief. And
Cordelia Hanger (2-3, 2 R, 3B, BB, SB), and
Kelly Stoakes (4-4, R, 2B, 2 RBI) collected MNU's 6 hits.
