Pioneers Move Up in Heart Standings

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – The Pioneers moved into 4th place in the Heart with a 76-68 victory over Mt. Mercy on Saturday. MNU won the 1st quarter 21-17 and led by 7 with 2 minutes left in the 2nd. But the Mustangs ended the period on a 9-0 run to take a 2-point lead into halftime. Mt. Mercy held a 7-point lead early in the 3rd, but MNU went on an 11-0 run to take the lead. The Pioneers controlled the 4th quarter and pushed the lead to 16 before cruising to an 8-point victory.
