Pioneers Fall 2-1 to Close Remarkable Season

PENSACOLA, Fla. – MNU's historic postseason run came to an end in a hard-fought 2-1 loss to #8-ranked Columbia College in the NAIA Women's Soccer National Championship Round of 16. The Pioneers were able to thwart the high-powered Cougar attack by keeping possession for a good amount of the first half, but the scoreless tie was broken with a rocket to the upper 90 and a 1-0 lead in the 31st minute. In the 60th minute, Bella Leon was taken down in the box and Thayline Teixeira converted the PK to tie the game. 12 minutes later, Columbia scored the game winner, and the Pioneers couldn't find the equalizer.
