The Pioneers overcame a 19-point first half deficit to secure their second conference win of the season. With 5 minutes left in the 1st half, the Mustangs led 40-21. But MNU closed with a 15-2 run to get back in the game.
Trailing 42-36 at halftime, MNU tightened up defensively and held Mount Mercy to just 24 second-half points. Key contributions from Brooks Langrehr (11 points) and Shane Stevensen (8 points, 6 rebounds) led the Pioneers to the comeback.
Turning Point
Langrehr's late-game three-pointer tied the game, setting up Gerard Bosch for the go-ahead free throws in the final minute.
