PERU, Neb. – MNU battled through a five-set marathon but ultimately fell to Peru State on Friday night. Despite winning the first two sets 25-6 and 28-26, the Pioneers could not close out the match, losing 22-25, 23-25, and 11-15. The loss dropped MNU to 11-10 overall and 5-4 in conference play.
Isabella Munari led MNU with 24 kills and 21 digs, while Katrina Davis was key in the attack, posting 57 assists. After a dominant first set and a hard-fought second set victory, MNU struggled to maintain momentum, with Peru State capitalizing on errors in the final three sets.
Turning Point
MNU appeared in control after taking a 2-0 lead, including a narrow 28-26 win in the second set. However, Peru State found their rhythm in the third set and slowly clawed their way back, winning the next three sets and completing the comeback.
