LAMONI, Iowa - MNU shook off an early deficit to win convincingly at Graceland on Saturday. The opening Pioneer drive ended with a sack fumble, and the Yellowjackets quickly turned it into points with a touchdown. MNU responded with a 61-yard touchdown strike from
Adrian Parsons to
EJ Rogers, and blocked a field goal attempt on the next drive. Another long pass from Parsons to Rogers set up the Pioneers at the 3-yard line, and
Kaleb Bryant found paydirt for a 13-7 lead. The defense found another stop, then went 40 yards in 9 plays for another score and a 20-7 first quarter lead.
Maxwell Webber ended the next Graceland drive with an interception, and the teams traded punts for the next few drives. Graceland found the end zone with 4 minutes left in the half to close the gap, but the Pioneers answered right back with a Parsons to
JD Kolb 30-yard touchdown, and MNU led 27-14 at the break.
The second half started with 4 punts, and Jonathon Brown picked off a pass deep in Graceland territory to give MNU a long field. The drive ended with 1 play, however, when Parsons connected with
Arlandes Mitchell for an MNU passing record 92-yard touchdown pass.
Another touchdown ended a 7-play 70-yard drive for a 41-14 lead, and MNU cruised to a 20-point victory.
